Sigma Alpha is a National Professional Agriculture Sorority with a local chapter here at California State University, Chico. We are committed to promoting women in agriculture and strive for scholarship, leadership, and service in all of our dealings.
As a chapter we participate in several professional development, philathropic, and just plain fun activities. In the past our calendar of events have included Ag Day on Campus, Agriculture in The Classroom, The Boys and Girls Club Community Challenge, The Durham Pump Picnic, as well as monthly sisterhood events and business meetings.
We are currently hard at work planning our annual fall fundraiser which is scheduled for November 5, 2005. Last year we raised over $5,000 to split evenly with Nkosi's Haven, an AIDS orphanage in South Africa and this year we hope to make even more of an impact!!!
