Lee S. Altier, 1995, Assoc. Professor, PhD, Cornell U.

Teaching:

Food Forever, Holistic Resource Management, Ecology of Crop Production, Wetland and Riparian Resources and Management

Research:

riparian ecosystem management, agroecosystem modeling

Responsibilities:

Advisor for Plant Science majors and the Plant Science Club, CSU Research Review Committee

Henricus C. Jansen, 1976, Professor, PhD, UC Berkeley

Teaching:

Courses dealing with the ecology of agricultural and natural ecosystems; and with the plants, vegetation, use and management of wildlands and rangelands

Research:

Vegetation dynamics of California's oak woodlands; restoration of riparian (streamside) ecosystems; and vegetation management of Great Basin grass-shrublands

Responsibilities:

Academic Advisor to students in the Option in Land Stewardship; Advisor to the Bureau of Land Managent (BLM) in northeastern California; President of the California-Pacific Section of the society for Range Management

Mitchell M. Johns, 1998, Assoc Professor, PhD, Montana St.

Teaching:

Soil science, irrigation, soil genesis & classification, soil fertility & plant nutrition, soil health

Research:

Land application of food processing waste; sewage effluent geochemistry in soil

Responsibilities:

Advisor for plant science majors, membership in college and university committees

Richard C. Rosecrance, 1998, Assist Professor, PhD, UC Davis

Teaching:

Production courses dealing with west coast crop production (Fruits and Nuts, Plant Science, Weeds)

Research:

Fruit and nut production; soil and water relations, pollination biology, plant mineral nutrition, root growth, and alternate bearing

Responsibilities:

Plant Science advisor, Coordinate farm orchard committee, etc.

Lau Ackerman

Teaching:

assists in the production courses in field and row crops and assists with student research projects

Research:

Cereal crop and bean variety selection, precision agriculture

Responsibilities:

Mark Leigh

Responsibilities:

University farm greenhouse manager, native plant propagation and production

Joe Limberg

Research:

Walnut varietals trial, walnut selection block, alfalfa intense fertilization yield and quality

Responsibilities:

Walnut orchard and alfalfa hay management; assist with student projects in field; assist in crop production and almond production at the ATRC
