I grew up in
Orland, CA on a dairy farm that my family still operates today. We
have a milking herd of 400 cows of both Holstein and Brown Swiss
Breeds. I attended college at Chico State where I was a member of
the livestock judging team. After receiving my B.S. in animal
science, I moved up to Pullman, Washington where I specifically
focused on the field of ruminant nutrition at Washington State
University. After earning my M.S. in Animal Science, I took a job
working for Purina Mills as a dairy nutritionist in upstate New York
for three years. I then moved back to the West coast where I have
had the opportunity to teach here at CSU Chico as well as continue
my work as a private dairy nutrition consultant.
