Dr. Fox is a Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, alumna of the Soil
Science Department. Her graduate work at New Mexico State University focused
on conifer seedling root regeneration potential. Prior to coming to California
State University, Chico, she was department head for the Horticulture and Crop
Science Department at Cal Poly, SLO, from September 2002 - June 2006.
She brings an extensive background in industry experience in
regulatory affairs working with state, national and international regulatory
officials on crop protection issues. She was was vice president of regulatory
affairs and technical development for a biotechnology company in Davis, CA and
worked for a multinational crop protection company prior to that. In June 2003
Dr. Fox received the Presidential Green Chemistry award for her work as part
of the development team of a biological fungicide when she was with the
biotechnology company. Dr. Fox has made invited presentations at international
conferences and is an editor of the 2nd Edition of the Horticulture Western
Fertilizers Handbook. She is vice-chairman of the board for the Organic
Materials Review Institute, serves on the Western Integrated Pest Management
Advisory Committee and as an alternate on the California Department of
Pesticide Regulation's Pest Management Advisory Committee.
Her professional interests include new technologies for crop
protection, government policies and their impact on agriculture and pesticide
safety.
